These are the top 10 questions you need to ask before hiring a mold testing company to perform a mold testing service.
1. Who will perform the mold testing?
Is the mold testing technician certified and trained to do a mold testing? Has the mold testing technician completed at least 1000 or more mold testing services? Is mold testing your comanies primary business?

2. Is the mold testing non-destructive and non-invasive?
Are you going to remove walls or other building materials during the mold testing that will require repair after the mold testing? Can you provide a non-destructive and non-invasive mold testing service that will still be able to properly assess the building for mold?
ABM Environmental’s Answer: Our mold testing services are non-invasive and non-destructive. We use sophisticated equipment that does not require removal of walls or other building materials to test for mold.
3. Are your mold testing services confidential and discrete?
Does the mold testing technician show up with a marked vehicle that will let my neighbors know I am having a mold testing done? Do you provide a confidential mold testing report that is not released to anyone other than the client unless permission is granted to release the mold testing report?
ABM Environmental’s Answer: We only use unmarked vehicles and our mold testing services are discrete. Your neighbors do not need to know you are having mold testing completed. We do not release the mold testing reports to anyone without the clients permission first.
4. How much will the mold testing service cost?
Can you quote me a fixed price for the mold testing? Does your mold testing cost quoted include all fees? Are you going to add additional fees once you show up for the mold testing?

5. How quick can you do my mold testing?
When can you do the mold testing? Can I get the mold testing done in the next 1 to 2 days? Are you going to show up for the mold testing on time? Can you provide an exact time you will perform the mold testing so I don’t have to wait around all day for the mold testing technician?
ABM Environmental’s Answer: We can normally provide a mold testing service within 1 to 2 business days of you calling us and setting up an appointment. We always set up a specific time to do the mold testing and we show up on time.
6. How quick do I get my results and report from the mold testing?
Are you going to send a mold testing report after the mold testing is complete? When will the mold testing report be sent? Will I get the mold testing report within 1 business day of the mold testing lab results being ready?

7. What equipment will you use for the mold testing?
Does the mold testing technician have proper mold testing equipment such as a calibrated bio pump, bio tape slides, spore trap cassettes, non-invasive moisture meters, a humidity meter?
ABM Environmental’s Answer: We use state of the art mold sampling equipment, spore traps to capture the mold spores from the air, bio tape slides to collect mold spores from surfaces and submit samples under chain of custody to a third party labs to make sure the testing is the most accurate possible without cross contamination.
8. Can you provide other complimentary services other than mold testing?
If I have a mold problem after the mold testing can your company help with the mold problem? Does your company provide mold removal services? Can you provide other types of air quality assessment services if I want a more comprehensive air quality assessment?

9. As a mold testing company are you accredited with the Better Business Bureau?
Does your company have BBB accreditation as a mold testing company? Does your company have an A+ rating with the BBB as a mold testing company?

10. Are the mold samples collected for mold testing analysed by an accredited third party laboratory?

Do you use spore traps to test mold spore types in the air which identifies the mold type by mold group including the more toxic species such as Stachybotrys (toxic black mold)?
